I think the Rockets are better off starting Aaron Brooks ahead of Rafer Alston. Aaron Brooks is a nice pickup for the Rockets. He's a talented young man who plays hard, an efficient player and plays really good defense. He locks down his man consistently, giving them a hard time and that's a boost for the Rockets because he guards the point guards. When the point guard is having a rough time, it affects the whole team. ( See their game against New Orleans, where he locked down Chris Paul ). That would make Houston a very good defensive team. Just think about it. Yao, a 7'6" guarding the middle. Brooks giving the opposing team's point guard a rough time. Then Ron Artest locking out the opposing team's best player and when he's on the bench, there's Shane Battier, another defensive specialist to back him up. That would make the Rockets one of the best defensive teams around, maybe trailing only Boston. The problem is, Rafer Alston is a starter, and has always been for most of his career. I doubt if a player like him would be happy playing second fiddle to a young guy like Brooks ( Ask TJ Ford, if he enjoyed playing behind Calderon back in Toronto.) It's a similar situation. Then there's Al Harrington who isn't happy in Golden State and the Warriors are trying to get rid of him as well. They are in very much need a point guard. Ellis is a two-guard and is better off at the receiving end of the pass since he is a terrific finisher. Rafer Alston would fit in well with them since Rafer can run, make passes on the break and shoot threes, which is what Golden State does. So it's a win-win situation for both teams. I think this deal would benefit both teams. What do you think about this trade? Brother J, you're so stupid! Of course, Scola will start and Al Harrington will be the first man off the bench. That would make the Rockets a deep team and that is my point! Don't be a dumbass. Rafer Alston is a perfect fit for the Warriors. He shoots threes and he can lead the break. Yes, he doesn't play defense, but does Don Nelson care? He's is a purely offensive minded coach! Don't be stupid Brother J! Don't be stupid! The Warriors have so many point guards?? Ellis is a two-guard you idiot! CJ Watson and Marcus Williams aren't starters and are not good enough to be. You're such an idiot Brother J! And by the way, Brother J. Your grammar sucks! And here's proof that this trade can happen! http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=308~11&teams=10~9&te=&cash=... Read More »
